My artist friend saw this elastic style pencil case somewhere else and commissioned me to attempt a replica. I didn't take a picture of the outside, but it's the same owl fabric.

I made a small lined zipper pouch for erasers, sharpeners, and things. It's sewed right into the side.

The flap along the edge folds down to protect the tips.

All rolled up!

I left the ties very long so she could trim to her preference.

Also, this is what I deal with every time I put something on the floor!

Love it!  My girlie needs one, but I'm afraid I'd have to make it 12 feet long, LOL.

The roll is gorgeous!  And that pic of the cats sums up perfectly what it's like to be a cat owner

Beautiful and practical; I love the owl motif!  The flap to protect the tips was a great idea too--it'd be so frustrating to spend all that time sharpening them only to have the ends accidentally snapped off!

With the exception of my watercolor pencils, which I keep in their original package, I store all of my pencils in two small boxes, the colored ones go in a cardboard receptacle and everything else (graphite, charcoal, etc.) goes in a plastic one.

This is awesome! And that looks like a butt-ton of sewing lines through elastic, well done!
You clearly need to make a kitty roll with a couple larger elastics.
