We became first time grandparents last week to the most adorable baby girl in the world  Grin

Her mommy loves elephants and told us the baby room would feature them regardless of the baby’s gender so I set to work.  Couldn’t find any cute elephant fabric locally so I purchased a panel, cut out the elephant and worked with the colours on it.  I thought it wasn’t ‘baby’ enough but my hubby said it was modern baby and go for it, so I did.

Our DIL loved it.  I think our son is still getting used to being a daddy and didn’t say much  Smiley   I used the same pattern that I made him a quilt with 10 years ago.

WOWEE!!  Beautiful use of a panel and I love that you weren't afraid of color!  She'll be the coolest grandbaby on the block@

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Congratulations, that is exciting news! The colors are magnificent and I love that mosaic-looking pattern. Very nice!

The bright, contrasting colours are great for a baby, that is lovely!

Congratulations on becoming a Grandma-ma!  That's a vibrantly-colorful elephant quilt that I'm sure Baby Girl (and Mommy/Daddy) will always treasure.  I just noticed that the black rectangles make a symmetrical pattern whereas the arrangement of the other colors do not; was that on purpose or did it just randomly occur?

Good eye … it was done on purpose.  I didn't want to use black at first but needed one more colour so used it and then made sure two black didn't touch anywhere.
