I made this quilt for my first grandniece who was born this Spring.

Her nursery colors are violet and grey, and the space-themed fabrics and the border have a bit of sparkle to them. Glittery quilting fabrics are so much fun, I can't get enough of them. My niece didn't want anything too girly, so I tried to avoid too many floral prints or, at least, keep them subtle.

I chose a pebble quilting pattern and was amused to find that it made the sashing look like Petoskey stones, the state rock of my (and my niece's) home state of Michigan. Cheesy

I still have a few threads to tie off, then I can send it out. I hope she likes it.

Thanks for looking!

This looks great! The pebbling is beautiful amid that's a really fun layout for HSTs! I'm really obsessed with sparkly fabrics right now too! Especially Rifle Paper Co, Sparkly Essex, and Manchester! <3

This is absolutely beautiful. I tried quilting once and I know the work that goes into just a simple one. This is not simple at all. All those pieces. Eeks! This is fantastic. Love the colors you chose!

Thank you! It all starts with two squares. You stitch them wrong-sides together all around the square, then cut it corner-to-corner twice to make four smaller squares which are made up of the two triangles. Then, you just lay out the squares in whatever pattern you like, sew into strips, and sew the strips together. Video
