I made some frozen treats for my hot dog!

I looked at a few different recipes online and then just kind of winged it based on what I saw there.

1 ripe banana, mushed up pretty well. I used a pastry blender.
then mix these in well
~1/3 cup creamy peanut butter - make sure it doesn't have xylitol in it.
~3/4 cup plain yogurt - or greek yogurt

You can put it in a container in the freezer and scoop it like people ice cream, but I wanted to use some of my silicone baking trays - hearts and bones this time.

Delia was pretty stoked to help with cleaning up the dishes!

I keep meaning to try making something like this for my pup.  *Next time I get bananas* this will have to happen!

I meant to include in my post that I taste all the dog treats I make - there's no reason not to, it's all human grade food - and this BY FAR tastes the best. In fact, it tastes the most like something at all!

I'd be inclined to eat these as well; the dog can share!  Grin

My poor sweet pup is on steroids, to help her heal up after a lingering infection.  Side effect?  She's STARVING!  Must have all the food, right now.  Normally we have to coax her to eat at all, but in the last week she's downed anything and everything she can find.  I'm fairly certain she'd never forgive me for 'sharing' her pupcicles.  Wink

Delia has especially liked them on hot days!

Aw, poor bubz! My dearly departed Betty was on steroids for her last months which made her famished and made it harder for her to regulate her temperature in the hot weather. She really, REALLY liked the frozen treats then.

One of the things I like about these is using up a too ripe banana without heating up the kitchen!

What a great idea! And, they do sound delicious! I'll be staying with my brother and sister-in-law for a week this summer, and I might have to make some for my doggie niece and nephew. I'll have to check to make sure it's okay first, of course.
