We wanted to make some gifts for our teachers for being amazing [read: surviving another school year with smiles on their faces.  bless them.  seriously.].  I didn't want to give them another mug or picture frame of my kid.  I just couldn't do it.  They see his face all year long.  They deserve a break.  Cheesy

We found the idea of a teacher toolkit/toolbox and thought it fit so well for their Montessori classroom.  We got the drawer label inspiration from The Teaching Willow and just ran with it wherever our noggins led us.

We started with a really simple garage organizer from Lowe's.  I coated it with two coats of Valspar Paint + Primer in the color Destiny.

I downloaded these watercolor flowers from Creative Market.  They were free the week we snagged them, but I'm not sure how often they do that.  Each week, that site has some featured, free goodies and we happened to see these when we were searching for toolbox decorations.

I used the "Print Then Cut" feature on Cricut to cut them out because I do not possess the patience to cut all of those little bits out by hand. Cheesy  We brushed the back of each piece with Mod Podge and smoothed them all over the toolbox.  Ezra especially loved this part. Cheesy

After the flowers were all applied, I sprayed it with 3 - 4 coats of Rust-Oleum Chalked Sealer.  Any craft sealer will do, though.  That's just what I had on hand.

We used the same floral clipart to carry onto the drawer labels.  I chose some.  Ezra chose some (glitter, stickers and crayons Cheesy ).  We just had fun filling it with supplies we know they have in their classroom.

Someone mentioned it would also be a great home craft or makeup organizer, and now I want to make one for myself. Grin

Great and practical gift idea!  You did a fabulous job of pretty-ing it up and filling it with useful stuff--I'm sure the teacher will love it.

I like that gold, rough-hewn elephant figure on the dresser too!
