When I replaced the tired, old blue carpet in the guest room with a weathered oak patterned LVP suddenly the room got really brown. I'm already on the prowl for area rugs, but in the meantime I decided to make a throw pillow for the (brown) chair in there.

Luckily, I got to make the whole this from stash, too!

The chenille ric rac has been in my stash for at least a dozen years and the tan cording was inherited from my grandmother before that; the date on the package was 1983! I sewed it together before sewing it into the side seams.

The backing fabric has also been in my stash for awhile and was used to make another pillow in the guest room!

I also made a sort of pillow form to go in it, hoping to avoid the lumpiness I always get when I try to stuff a pillow with polyfil stuffing. I didn't get quite the results I was hoping for, but I think it still came out smoother than if I'd just stuffed it.

It's a double layer of batting sewn to fit in the pillow, then filled with scrap batting and stuffing.

So, is the front of the pillow really a paint by number, or is it a print?

That pillow absolutely looks like you.

It's a cotton print.

Oh my gosh, that could not be more *you*, lol. Love it, all the details are great.

I made a pillow form and stuffed it with chopped up felted sweater bits cut really small. It fluffs up easily when it's gotten squashed but it is quite heavy and gets squashed easily too. I was mimicking chip foam with I think is the best cushion stuffing but it's nice and light. Layers of batting is a good idea, I have a small amount of that I haven't known what to do with.

Whatever the question, the answer is always CRAFTING! It's the fix for all the sicks. Makes me feel better every time.

and remember, ALWAYS USE THE GOOD BEADS, YARN, FABRIC!

Thanks, pals!

I have an idea or two brewing for improving on my self-made pillow forms. My favorites are feather/down and I have a few of those in my stash, but sometimes the pillow just needs to be a specific size to accommodate what it's made from, ya' know? If I can't have the squishy-yet-fluffable feather look, then I want it to be as square-cornered as possible, so I have some fiddling around to do with my idea for materials and pre-stuffed shapes.  Shocked

Thanks, friends!

That fabric is epic. Nice job!

I bought it "on spec" and wish so hard that I'd bought enough to make PJs, but I did not. I could make pants, but I want whole deal!
