What is the best glue to use when making mosaics with old CD's?  Also what glue is best to glue those glass rocks from the  dollar store?  [/b]

What are you making?  Is it something that will see hard use or exposure to weather - like a table top, or planter that will be outdoors?  Or will it be something purely decorative and not exposed to changing weather?

I think to what and where makes all the difference. Whenever I've made fridge magnets from those glass gems I've just used white glue to adhere the paper to the glass, then something stronger for the magnet like E6000 or hot glue. I wouldn't play roughly with those or put them outside though.

One of the thinghs I would like to try is to glue the glass rocks fro, the dollar store to a glass jar.  As for the CD's,,,I see some people make mosaics out of them.

I know I've seen articles on the internet of what types of glue to use when gluing one type of item to something of a different type.

Of course! This site. I've used it many times but forgot all about it for some reason.
