I recently made a set of prayer flags for myself and one for a good friend using some of my best fabric, beads, and charms. It felt great to use up those treasured bits and bobs I'd been saving up instead of leaving them tucked away in bins and boxes. Now I get to see that special stuff all the time in an awesome project that was fun to make. I invite you to break out the best of your stash and craft something truly awesome to send out into the world. You can make something equally terrific for yourself at the same time, of course, but it is not required for this swap.

Swap name: Use The Good Beads, Fabric, Yarn, etc...
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: craftylittlemonkey
Sign-up date range (day of the month in red): 5/21/18-5/31/18
Date to send item by: Thursday, July 19, 2018
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- If within the US, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap:
We will be using the very best of our stash, something we've hoarded for the perfect project that just hasn't come along yet. It's understandable to need new notions etc but it would be best if the end project was at least 80% from your collection.
You'll discuss with your partner the details of what you will send regarding physical size of the item but this will be considered a LARGE in time and effort. This will be a one item swap, the main project can have more than one element (such as a set of jewelry or similar) but extras are not required so it's low pressure and adheres to the idea of using the special supplies we've been holding on to.
I will try to pair people up as well as possible based on what one person has a stash of and what another person might want to receive so please list the type of precious items you've got to use in your questionnaire.

Swap Rules:
~Please post in the discussion thread at least once after being accepted to the swap.
~I'll be doing a weekly check in with a question that I'd like you to answer to let us all know you're actively engaged in the swap.
~Please keep a copy of your mailing receipt as confirmation of sending.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap: Use The Good Stuff
Craftster username:
Email address:
Your real name:
Mailing address including the country:
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?:
Confirm that are at least 16 years old:
What kind of crafts do you make?
What sort of craft would you like to receive?
Anything you would not want to receive?
Favourite and least favourite colours?
Specific stash items you would like to use?
Any allergies or allergens in your home?
Anything else you want to tell your partner?
Do you have a Pinterest board to share?

Please read the swap info guide so you understand swap rules.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO THE ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE.

To help me with organization kindly include "Use The Good Stuff" (sign up, sent, received, question, etc) in the subject line of all messages relating to this swap. Thanks!

I have to consider this as well. I have lots of really great stuff, I've been collecting for YEARS! I buy supplies for projects I want to make for myself and my family but it's always more than can ever be used up. I've got one thing on the go I really hope I find the right partner for, one for you, one for me. I'm super excited about this!

Ya-a-ay! I've SO been waiting for this. I'll have to think a little before I can send in my questionnaire. What exactly DO I have a special stash of? Except everything, of course. I know I have one really terrific bead that I've been saving forever. That's a start.

Whoo hoo thanate and Wulf! I will be sorting my special stashes along with both of you. I've been thinking on it all night and wow, do I ever have a little of everything saved up. I don't think there is a category of supply I haven't got some excellent bit of.

Argh - I don't know what stash to use - I need to be inspired as to what to make!!!!  I have some super cool yarn and beads I have not used that could make a nice beaded scarf or shawl - but that would be very time consuming... I do have some lovely swarovski crystals too.  Vintage buttons, and cool ribbons.... so many delicas to make beaded ornaments with... I have to think on this... fondle my stash... lay on my hoard.... my precious...myyyyyyy preciooooooous...

I think it would be good to list all the categories you have to choose from, which crafts you would like to focus on, then let me pair you with the best person wanting what you have to make and also making what you'd like to have. I mean, don't list EVERY SINGLE CRAFT SUPPLY THERE IS, ha ha, but the ones you've been hoarding because they are *that good*.

Well, I, uh, managed to find a way to work machine embroidery into my questionnaire.  (But seriously, how is buying super complicated freestanding lace patterns I don't actually intend to make *not* hoarding?  It just takes up less space than everything else.)   Roll Eyes
