I wanted an easy project.  I wanted to try something with minky.  I found a tutorial on Pinterest for a minky rag quilt.  Overall it was easy to make and I did it over the weekend.  But that thing shedded like there was no tomorrow.  There's minky shed all over- the floor, my sewing table, my sewing machine, the couch, my clothes.  You should have seen the lint trap after I washed and dried it!  But it's super soft and it's a more grown-up look with the colors I chose.

The back

Do I love it?  Yes.  Would I make another one?  Heck no.  Thanks for looking!

Completely worth the effort, it looks incredible. I agree with your sentiment, some projects only need to be attempted ONCE and that is enough Cheesy.

Would you be so kind as to post a link to the tutorial? That looks incredibly soft and I love the colors you chose. It might be a cute project for my sister for Christmas....

I avoid minky like the plague, so good for you for not only braving it, but doing such a great job.  And congrats on being a featured project!

I totally understand what you mean about the shedding. I made a rag quilt with denim and that thing shed forever. Congrats on being featured.

This is the first time I heard the term minky. I had to look it up.

Minky is a special type of plush fabric that is 100% polyester and is often used to make baby blankets, baby clothing and baby accessories. Minky fabric is like fleece but softer and thicker. ... The high quality of our minky fabric prevents its colors from fading and its warmth from decreasing over time.

Thanks for teaching me something new.
