Hi!

Just wanted to share a little RAK that Lana did for Global Youth Service Day at her school this Saturday.  She led a rock painting project and then got the kids to leave them all over Takoma Park as well as donated a batch to the NIH Children's Inn.  Smiley

Our first attempts using paint pens!

The project was supposed to last 2 hours, but the kids didn't want to stop painting!!  They finished both huge bags of rocks!

Lana also organized the GYSD event for the second year!  Smiley  There were hundreds of people coming in and out all day!  Check out our Facebook to see all of our events.  https://www.facebook.com/makeadifferencewithus/

I live in NY and those rocks are SO FUN to find and are so uplifting!  I've found two so far.  I keep one in my planter of my favorite plant, and one in my car.  The one I keep in my car says: 'Love'.

Please tell Lana I said:  "Great job!"

That's a wonderful project; your daughter and her classmates really went to town with it!  It's great that she's getting leadership/organizing experience doing this too--that's bound to look impressive on a resume or college application.  I liked the eyeball and fish rocks in the first photo the best.

I walk/hike a lot, so I see similar painted rocks frequently during the warmer months (we still have quite a bit of snow where I live, so, I probably won't be spotting any new ones for at least a little while yet).  I sometimes pick them up to inspect the artwork more closely, but I haven't kept any (yet).

Smiley  I have to say as always that Lana was raised on Craftsters love.  Her Craftster Aunties and Uncles have had such a positive impact her life and what she values.  Thank you!!
