So I have been away from Craftster for about 3 1/2 months. While I was gone I spent the time working on some projects for family as well as myself.  I have wanted to try a one block wonder quilt and love the process.  Here is the first of what I am sure will be more to come.  And it is for me!

The outer fabric is the original fabric before it was cut into the triangles.

Since I had some extra triangles left I decided to toss them around on the backside.  The backing and sashing is a dark gray.

Since I am a hoarder of buttons I hand sewed one into the center of each of my centers.   Such a fun process and love seeing how the fabric turns into such pretty kaleidoscopes.  If you are not familiar with this technique check out some u-tube videos or join their group.  Fun to see how different fabrics turn out and it is the only quilts allowed on their site.

You not having the courage......I find that hard to believe.  I am almost through with my second one.  It is for a house warming gift.  And I have 4 more pieces of fabric  plus another out of panels.  Dang did I just share I have been buying fabric again.   I also bought a new machine and have to make sure to use it so I can say I am getting my moneys worth. Lol!  Do you have a design wall!  Go for it. I found it to be relaxing oh!

This is absolutely gorgeous, and when you said it was one block, I thought it was just one giant fabric block in the center. Then, your comment about the border being the original fabric made me take a second look... and sent me down the rabbit hole of YouTube tutorials! Just when I swore I wasnt taking in any new projects...

Awe thanks guys.....totally unexpected.  Lol. I never knew about the one block wonder either until a coworker showed me a u-tube and said you could do this. Now I look at a lot of fabric in a different way.
