In the January Dotee swap, I made these little corgis. I only needed one, but it took me three tries to get just what I wanted. And now that I look back...the little guys were fine from the start. But now I have extras for the holiday fair in the fall.

It's only about 6 inches tall. I used two different fabrics and I like the printed dog fabric better, but the little plain guy is cute too.

I drew up a pattern, then modified (twice) in Illustrator. I could have gone with the hand-drawn version, but some days I just need to use illustrator. PM me if you want the pattern.

I don't cut out the pattern pieces until they are sewn together. So I stitched on the linen tummy and muzzle, ears, and the little butt pieces stitching right through the paper. Tear the paper away and trim with pinking shears close to the stitching. Then I added the felt eyes, nose, mouth, and tongue. I do everything I can on the sewing machine, but hand stitching (for those who can stand it) is just fine.

I stitched up the back, leaving an opening. Trim and turn, press the back seam open. I've started doing a back seam as that looks the neatest when finished and also lets me add a cute little corgi tail.

Then place the two sides together and stitch all around, using the pattern as a guide.

Trim, turn and stuff.

They are cute--especially the corgi butts!
