QUESTIONS FOR EVERYONE (please answer if possible):

HuhHuh??I would absolutely LOVE to make the two patches Mellius01 made me for this swap as the focal points for each side of the TM pocketbook I'm making.  DH said he could spray them with 'Scotchguard' to protect them against stains.  I'm of two minds about this.  One, I could display both patches at home, where they will definitely not get anything on them.  Two, I could use them for the pocketbook, where they *may* get some wear and tear but would make the pocketbook look SO AWESOME!  What does everyone think?  Opinions/thoughts/suggestions???

HuhHuh??When sewing TM patches together, how do you do it and what do you use?  I'm thinking regular thread and join along the back so that the connecting thread cannot be seen.  But I've never done this before and I want to do it right, and for the stitching to last thru use and handwashing (when needed).  Help?  Suggestions?

Thank you, everyone!

I actually used quilting thread to stitch mine together...I used white, but it comes in lots of colors and is strong...I didn't care if the stitches showed...some I sewed from the back, some from the front...I don't think there is a whole lot of wear with a bag, but I would use something else for the bottom...maybe denim or something heavier...I used my notebook a lot and it did not get that dirty...I undid the stitching and decided to make something else since the notebook cover was a bit heavy for me to carry around.

You have some pretty patches, so a bag would be wonderful! I am a firm believer in using what you make...show off the patches and the art for all to enjoy!

I never thought of using something different for the bottom!  It makes a whole lot of sense!  Thank you!  I'll definitely use denim, it's so durable!

Thanks everyone.

Im so glad you Like your package, LadybugsAndBumblebees. When I saw the ladybug pattern I got excited to make it for you. I knew it would be a big patch but I couldnt think of a way to do it smaller and get all the colors in.

I cant believe I was rushing with the package and left the tree patch out. I got home and saw it in the counter and almost cried. Then I just put it in a mailer and went back to the post office. No patch is going to defeat me! lol

The scarf yarn is just Red Heart. Im not sure of the color listing but Ill get the information if you want. I saw it in the store and was anxious to see how it would stripe. I love how it came out. The same with the dishcloth, it made that pattern on its own.

It was great swapping with you and I hope you find the patches useful. Thanks for being a great partner.

mellius- I, like everyone else, love the ladybug patch, and the way the edging fabric matches it!

dharma_rebel- that rainbow cross stitched pendant is the most damned delightful thing I've seen in a while. I've pinned it  Smiley

It'll be awhile before the TM bag is done...I still have to stitch up the patches, and a fellow Craftster has generously agreed to put a zipper in and all that to turn it into a pocketbook.

I've been in the TM patch swaps, and I even got a few TM patches in the ATC swaps, so I will be thrilled to show all of Craftster what we can make collectively!  Cheesy
