After making my laundry room diorama, I was finally inspired to finish up this project.

I've collected these vintage flashcards over the last few years at various junque shows and antique malls. It was always just so easy to procrastinate digging through the jumbles of frames at thrift stores and garage sales for appropriate sizes. So I finally made it a priority and got lucky and found all three on a single trip to just one small-ish thrift store in our nearest little town! I was focused on size and hoping to get glass with them (not always the case at junque shows and such) and tried to ignore finish.

I used a couple of different ways to get them to all be white: (faux) pickling stain on the 2 oak ones, flat house paint on the black and "cherry" one. White house decor isn't usually my jam, but I wanted to coordinate with the laundry diorama and the main thing in that tiny room is the big, stacked, white washer/dryer set.

I was able to find scrapbook papers in colors that go with the vibe in the laundry room AND happen to give a nod towards fabric: plaid, gingham, twill. YEY! It felt good to continues my focus on shopping my own stash first and also to keep the additional costs low: <$8 for the frames.

They aren't hung yet, but hopefully will be in the next couple of days.  Tongue

How cute!  Those cards look like they're in new condition, what a find!

Thanks! They are in pretty great condition, like elementary school children were not allowed to touch them!  Cheesy The socks is a little crease-y in one place, but it's barely noticeable and I kind of like that kind of "patina," anyway.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Once they are hung you'll have the best-dressed laundry room in town!

Thank you, everyone!

I got them installed! The placement is less odd in person and really kind of the only way to go considering all the, uh, considerations.  Roll Eyes

Is that an empty laundry detergent bottle?  If so, I LOVE that idea!
