Now that my partner has received her items for the Keep Me Warm swap, it's safe to show them off a bit here.

The swap required us to create a worn accessory and a drink accessory.  For the worn accessory, I decided to make Dharma_Rebel a hooded scarf! Here are a few pics (please excuse my awkwardly weird-faced modeling pics) -

I discovered the pattern on Ravelry and it is free to download (which you can find here for any interested in giving it a go).  It seems super intimidating at first, but if you are able to read and follow a chart - which is included with the instructions - it's not that difficult at all and works up quite quickly.  I've been mildly obsessed with anything granny square related, lately  Tongue  Grin

For the drink accessory, I decided on a crochet Mug rug but thought that doing a plain one was a little on the boring side.  I proclaimed to myself that now was as good a time as any to learn tapestry crochet (which I only recently discovered was a thing!).  Enter, a snowflake mug rug -

Funny story here.  I will admit that I didn't start out with the idea of a snowflake mug rug, per say...  I used this pattern for an afghan square to learn the technique first and realized that the end result really wasn't, well square-ish but more rectangle-y.

I still liked it and added a fun ruffled edge and voila!  Theme appropriate drink accessory! Wink

Lastly, I had some fun blue and white variegated yarn in one of my baskets begging to be played with.

I decided to try out an octagonal "square" pattern from one of my crochet books, "99 Granny Squares". Thus, some fun wintery looking crochet coasters were born!  They were sent to my partner as an extra goody Smiley

Definitely learned some new things with this swap that I will be implementing in some future projects. Cheesy

Thanks for looking! <3

That hooded scarf is the bomb.  The coasters are cute too.

I bet the recipient is (or will be) very happy with these gifts!

I love all of them, but the coasters are my favorite.

Gosh Guys, Thanks so much!!  It was such a joy to make and my partner loves it Smiley

I think I'll have to make myself one at some point for next winter, and maybe add some animal ears to the hood  Grin
