For years I have had this cute little laundry room in a detergent bottle diorama pinned and I finally made my own version!

And I made it all from stash and things I had around. In fact, I bought the Fisher Price Little People washer/dryer set off Ebay for something like this a few years ago.

I painted the basket to coordinate with the wallpaper, even though it was originally the avocado color of the w/d set I grew up with in the 1970s!

The pup is a sticker that came in some mail for Highlights magazine... there are no kids here, so I have no idea why we get that. The frame is from the discontinued items bin at JoAnn, came in a pack of 4.

The shelf doesn't look like much out in the real world, but looks nice when inside the repurposed laundry bottle world. Wink

I definitely want to come up with something to put on that shelf, so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled and mind open, but am considering it done-enough. I'd love it if I came up with something that didn't need to be bought. I'm pretty sure I don't want a box or bottle of soap up there, but we'll see.

Anyway, it's hanging in my laundry room! It's a quite cramped space and this is the only place for it really, but it's also opposite the door so I'll get to see it all the time.

How cute and cheerful!  I like that you shaped the opening to match the molding of the bottle.

Thanks, ladies!

I just cut around the Seventh Generation label, so it was easy!

I struggled a bit choosing the wallpaper, actually, because even though I thought it was a really good choice for this, I am not generally a fan of pink. Sometimes pink is just the best choice!

That is, OMG, so frikken incredibly cute and adorable and AMAZING! I love it too much. I'm training all the brats, erm, I mean *kids* to do their own laundry and am absolutely certain a wee diorama would encourage them greatly. Or just get them down there looking at it and bugging the boogers out of the teen whose room and workspace are down there, ha. Either way, awesome, ha Smiley.
I might include a wee clothes hanger bag like this one as a nod to my granny. We aren't hanging things on the line at this house but it still lives in our laundry room.

Maybe I'll give that idea a think! We do hang clothes on the line in those sweet spots between snow/rain and smoke season & smoke season and snow rain.

I would still hang out clothes, but last year, the poles holding up the line finally rotted through along with our fence...this year, we will be replacing the fence, but not the clothes line poles...I still keep my pin bag in my laundry room...and yes, that would be adorable in a diorama, CLM...and T...pink is not my favorite color either, but sometimes, it is the only color that makes sense!  lol...also, it goes so nicely with the floor!

That is just the cutest idea! I might have to start frequenting yard sales to see if I can score a mini washer/dryer set, or figure out a way to make one. Id love to put something like this in my laundry room once its actually finished.
