I made this Harry Potter advent calendar for a friend and love how it came out.  The drawers feature photos of favorite characters and scenes.

The center image is a lovely winter scene of Hogsmeade.

I added some sparkly glittered chipboard snowflakes.

The best part?  I also made a wizard's cabinet and 24 tiny little Harry Potter related items to go in each drawer, including a Marauder's Map, a Quibbler, a pair of glasses, spell ingredients and a photo of Ginny in her quidditch uniform.  Thanks for checking it out!

Oh, this is such a neat idea! I am guessing the things go into the drawers and are arranged on the shelf an item at a time each day until the 25th? What a terrific alternative to candy.
Our aunt brought us a little drawer advent thing last year, the kids will go bananas if I fill the drawers with minis to decorate something with. If will be the best fun every year. You are BRILLIANT!

Thanks to you both!  Yep CLM, the idea is to open one drawer a day starting December 1st.  The drawers are spacious enough to also hold a piece of candy or two if one is so inclined.

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

These are my favorite kind of advent calendars! I love so much the idea of "building" a thing or scene vs eating a candy and tossing the wrapper. This is the kind that will become a cherished tradition!
