I made this cute boy for a coworker-friend who loves Calvin & Hobbes, in anticipation of the birth of their child.  They even considered naming their baby Calvin, but worried it might be a self-fulfilling prophecy (though he did go as Calvin for Halloween).

I followed the Instructables DIY to make him.  TONS of hand-sewing, but so worth it.  I had the eye-buttons ground into an oval shape for maximum authenticity.  As a crafter does.

Awesome job, your plush Hobbes is a perfect translation from the 2D comic art into 3-dimensional form!  Bill Watterson is strongly against the commercialization of Calvin & Hobbes, so, sadly, making something yourself, or having someone else do it for you, is generally the only way to get Calvin & Hobbes merchandise, other than the books of collected comics.

And LOL about the self-fulfilling prophecy had she name her boy Calvin--nobody wants that! Cheesy

That's exactly why I made it -- I've always admired Bill Watterson's resolve not to license any Calvin & Hobbes stuff.  Of course, my friend lamented this sad fact, and I seized upon it at once.   Grin Grin
