Every time I see your work, I think, "Oh, this is my favorite!" But now I think there's officially a winner. This is amazing! Cheesy

Wow, this is fantastic work.  Love the subject matter, and the stitches you used are beautiful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my dearest wish is to spy over the shoulder of some of you when you craft so I can see how you make the magic.

I was just thinking the same thing. I can't wrap my head around how a piece like this even happens.  Shocked

Here are some close-ups. It was hard to get these in focus, they are so incredibly tiny.

Oh girl, that is pure magic right there. I could look and look for hours, if I could even see it without a microscope that is. Still, no idea how you do this wonderful thread shading, it is really something.

Sweet craftylittlemonkeymessaged me to make sure I saw this!

Also LOLS - IT BURNS! MUWAHAHHA

I think a huge difference which makes your work so lifelike is layering, MANY colors, and not being so strict about the edges. I have watched the videos you recommended for layering...I can't recall the thread, but those! The videos! And I tried it out but was disappointed in how the edges looked. Almost, TOO sharp. My favorite work was towards the end when I started getting anxious to finish, when I was less precise. Hum. (also a poor character reflection. But there you go)

Ludi - is this all embroidery floss?

Follow-up - I recall the recommendations from the video, but do you have a preference in the amount of strands you use?

Finally - how does it feel to be interrogated over thread!  *sharp arm gesture* I want the truth! *fierce eyebrows* YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! THIS TECHNIQUE IS NOT FOR THE MASSES!

This is absolutely insane! Sooo many stitches and colors! It looks like a photo it's so detailed and realistic.
