I had this kind of random Christmas fabric that didn't really go with anything else so I decided to make a garland out of it for a swap! I cut triangles with my pinking shears and cut from various pieces in the fabric to get a variety of different parts of the print. I stitched pieces together wrong sides together 1/4 inch from the edge. Every few inches along a piece of green jute I attached the pieces with a hot glue gun by folding over the top half inch or so over the jute with a bead of glue. Easy peasy!

I've also done this with heavier weight fabric like canvas or linen, and with that I don't bother with 2 pieces stitched together, just one pinked piece is heavy enough. But for this lighter weight quilting cotton I needed the two layers.

It is so cute, the fabric is adorable. I have that scrappy folded star on my to-do list too, so pretty.

Let me tell you, those things are a pain in the butt! And there's no way to keep them together, they could just unfold at any time!
