I figured that since our driveway is essentially an ice rink, I may as well sign Delia up for figure skating lessons. And of course she needed appropriate gear.

So I raided my stash for any kind of stretchy, fancy fabrics and came up with these! The flutter sleeves (FLUTTER SLEEVES!) and the ruffle are the selvage of the sequin fabric.

I think Delia has real potential for the athletic parts. Maybe less so the gracefulness...

And a squillion detail shots, because every one of them makes me giggle!

Front/chest:

Back: I had just enough of that gold braid to cover the seam. The "belt" was added to cover the threads where the velcro was attached on the other side.

FLUTTER SLEEVES!

Closer shot of back fabrics and the fake princess seams above the "belt":

Flouncy:

The whole thing is lined with a goldenrod polar fleece.

Lol you complete freak, this is the best. I want a calendar of your dog outfits, I'd pay good money for such a thing Cheesy.

(Being freaky is the best thing in the universe imho, hope you take that as a compliment!)

Hahahahaha! I love this! The attention to detail is spectacular, and the flutter sleeves and sparkly sequin-y bits are my favorite parts. Well done! Now, I wish I had a dog of my own to dress up.

Thanks guys! I giggled the whole way thru making this! Didn't have a solid plan until I saw what I had to work with and then, of course, kept adding details, but I didn't let it go too-too far. I started last evening and wanted it done this morning.

F---ing BRILLIANT!  Totally made my day.  After making countless dance costumes with all of these fabrics, it makes me laugh out loud to see them all on a pupper!

THANK YOU! I posted some pics in a dog podcast FB group that I am in and two members are former figure skaters... a group I was worried might not dig this... and they love it! Whew! I mean, it's meant to be ridiculous, but not hurtful/offensive.

Oh Delia - you are so pretty!!!!!  Just adorable.  If you have a routine, I want Chaircat Mao to be the judge.  You two need to have a calendar together.

No word of a lie I had this exact thought. There are some fur babies on here that have acquired the status of Craftster God/Goddess by virtue of their costumes etc. I want a calendar sooooo badly!

You guys!  Roll Eyes Thanks!

Delia is just kind of learning the basics, practicing jumps, that kind of thing at this point.   Tongue

I do so wish Delia was as game for the elaborate hats that Chaircat Mao sports!

I wish Ginger were alive - I would SO beg you to make her one too - they could be two brindled beauties.... as for the hat, well, if she went for the hat, then I think she needs a vintage Bathing Beauty outfit including the little swimming hat!
