I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

How many of you had grandmas that made these cuties? I know mine did, but the "J" elf had gone missing, leaving little "O" and "Y" all alone! I went digging through the kids' wooden blocks (the same ones I played with as a kid) with the intention of making a replacement for the AWOL elf. Don't you know there was not a J in the entire bin! So, we made NOEL elves instead. Now we have OY NOEL.  Cheesy

Here's a simple pattern so you and your kids can make your own. It is pretty straightforward but I took progress pictures anyway.

Materials:

Felt
Wooden Alphabet Blocks
1" Wooden Beads for Head
Pom Poms
Pattern (not really necessary)
Glue

Cut out arms, legs, and hats from felt. I also cut out circular felt collars with pinking shears. Paint simple faces on wooden beads.

Hot glue legs and arms in place.

Add pom poms to feet and hands and glue collar on top of arms. Add a ring of glue to head and wrap hat around head. Fold end of hat over and add more glue to hold in place. Glue pom pom to end of hat. Attach head.

Enjoy your little elves!

I don't remember my gran having these cuties but we are certainly going to make some! Of course I gave away all the vintage blocks last year except for a few intended for a specific project but I see them at the thrift shop often so I will find the ones we need. If there's an extra "J" it's yours!
Thanks for the tutorial, they are so ridiculously adorable.

I'm not online as much as I used to be, don't panic if it takes a while for me to reply to things Smiley.
