Soooooo, ever since The ManFlesh first decided to take novel writing seriously and to try to get published he refused to call the activity "writing." We call it "typing." While looking at vintage bits and bobs on a website I spotted this Expert Typist award pin and KNEW I was going to have to make something out of it.

So, I added the ribbon and wee bead to make it look like a military medal!

I found the wee frame in my stash, refinished it. I found the blue cordoroy in my fabric stash and stretched it over some polyethylene I had around to pin it to. Then used a couple pieces of some black matting from stash to finish the back and added this label to help explain and hopefully to look a little like something sent out from Typing HQ to an Expert Typist in the field. I still have to add hanging hardware; I thought I had some, but turns out I don't have something suitable for this tiny frame. D'oh!

The numbers are the ISBN numbers for his first two novels published this year!

Thanks all! I'm pretty tickled with how it all turned out.  Grin

I realized after I was well underway that he probably won't actually be able to see those teeny tiny letters on the pin! I'll try to remember to have my magnifying glass handy when he unwraps it.  Roll Eyes

He deserves an award for his outstanding accomplishments. An Expert Typist of two books is an amazing thing!
