I got sucked into the Black Friday sales and decided to buy myself a Silhouette Portrait 2 (early Christmas present for me by me Smiley ).  I was worried that it was going to be yet another crafty purchase that ended up sitting in a closet (as did my original Cricut cartridge machine and my Sizzix Big Shot).  But I kept seeing awesome crafts that people were making with their Silhouette, so I was hopeful.

I have to say that I absolutely love this thing!  Everyone needs one!

My daughter wanted a Christmas presents for her roommate -

Then she was going to sharpie paint on a mug for another friend - hey let's see what we can do with the Silhouette...

Now I'm making beer glasses for my rowing team with our logo

Next I'm going to try cutting fabric.  and then using it to create a stencil for glass etching. and then....and then...

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

Great projects. Are they vinyl? I have been lusting after a silhouette but haven't allowed myself to get one, because I haven't used my original cricut as much as I thought I would. It's just not user friendly enough for me.

yes, the sweatshirt is heat transfer vinyl and the other two are adhesive vinyl.  I had the original cricut with the cartridges and I just never used it.  This is really easy and the designs are endless!
