I forgot how horrible photobucket was!!!

Photo uploading was the most terrible experience in 2011 -- has it improved much?

Yes!  In 2012, we introduce in-posting uploading.  You can upload as you are posting now.  It's MUCH faster than copying and pasting the old links, thank goodness!  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=413946.0

Omg...craftster! It's still here. I haven't been here in forever and was randomly reminded today about it.  It was by far my favorite website and community for a few years. I'm so thrilled to see active threads and the familiar layout. Now to try to fix a couple of old photos and check out the forums. Yay!!

I'm happy enough with it looking the same and like it even Smiley What sort of makes it hard to be active for me has more to do with the search function and the long process of posting pictures.
Idk how these would be fixed exactly, but I do think they would make a big difference.
Thanks so much to all those who continue to work on and keep this wonderful site going! I've never found one quite like it and it holds a special place heart.

ETA: wow i just realized direct picture uploading was added. Thankkkyouuu! (I obviously havent posted for awhile  Roll Eyes )

This an ongoing debate within several forums I participate in. The forums format is rather old and may need to be updated to something that would attract other to the site. Granted sites like facebook tend to draw many of these crowds away from the typically or old school forum. I personally like the old school format, but Craftster seems to held onto this format since I started back in 2006. I don't see much changing.

Instgram isnt that hard unless you just want to post photos. Twitter is designed for tweet which is like you a bird singing in a tree.. either some other birds will hear you or they don't. it's like an online diary. I use twitter only for making contact with those companies like Canon, Verizon, as their response time is very quick, more so than emailing or calling.

I'm under the impression that the current craftster format will keep going, but with small suggested changes. The only way to accomplish this is look into the forums developers and see what options that have to upgrade a few of the sites options. If one is considering a total overhaul, best make sure you implement the members stats and their post points, or you'll have some very unhappy craftsters.

Since I replied previously, they (our parent company) have decided to leave Craftster as the SMF platform rather than migrating to VB.  We're still able to code and implement new features, graphics, etc., but moving the entire site to a whole new platform just doesn't make sense for us as a site.  Everyone would have to learn an entirely new system, and I have a feeling there would be a lot of rage. Cheesy

We're currently working on repairing a few features, and I do have some new features & graphics in the pipeline for 2019!
