I did not get a new costume this year. My steampunk costume has been dusted off for quite a few Halloweens and events. So I don't know if this qualifies, but my trusty stead was delighted with her new booster steam engine.

But for this year's Trunk or Treat, my car needed a new engine. She's a trusty 2004 Toyota Matrix with over 200,000 miles. So she deserves a little fun. I added a steampunk engine with power boost.

So lots of cardboard went into this, plus recycled bottles, McDonalds salad containers, old dryer vent hose, old PVC pipe, plastic christmas balls, etc. etc. Lots more copper spray paint, glue, hot glue, thumb tacks, paint and lots of craft knife action.

The backdrop was a cardboard display board, one of the few things other than spray paint that I purchased.

I couldn't locate a paper barrel, so I made one out of a square box. That was a fun engineering project.

I started adding bits and pieces....

Holy crap!! This is AWESOME!!  Shocked Shocked

My last car was a Toyota Matrix, with well over 200,000 miles before we traded her in. Maybe we should have given her the steampunk treatment instead!

I can't believe you did this with just cardboard and odds and ends. It looks like you scored the cardboard to get the perfect round shape?

In awe over here!

Amazing! That is the best engine ever!  Cheesy love the ornament buttons!
And my car is reaching 200 000 too - a few US roundtrups and lots of memories ... but time to go  Grin
