I love to swap for the community, to learn new things, and make things for people that I know they will appreciate. I never receive handmade things from people in my real life, and I don't have family that appreciates handmade (or that I am close enough to to use my time for that) so I love to have a group of people I can swap handmade. My friend rubylynns told me about Craftster in 2011, and I have been here ever since. I also usually stick in the crafting threads, but I have spread my wings a bit the past few years.

I have been on both sides, where I am the more experienced crafter, and the less experienced, but someone taking their time to craft for me is priceless.

I love, love, love to make things.

I miss taking classes and like having an assignment to complete. (What a nerd am I?!?!)

Deadlines boost my motivation to make things.

Its awesome to get fun things in the mail, especially handcrafted surprises made especially for me.

I love seeing the Gallery and seeing how others have interpreted the theme(s)... what the other swappers have done with the same assignment. Feels like it adds to my own ongoing level of inspiration.

Its fun to dive into someones profile and Pinterest, etc and think about what might delight them, imagining them opening my gift, etc.

Its an excuse to prioritize crafting above other more boring things like housework.

Its like giving myself a present! I get the fun of crafting (which would be enough in and of itself) and then I get an actual gift as well. Win-win!
