Our friend's annual barter party is coming up and I decided to take advantage of it to *bust some of my fabric stash.

There are two sets of 6 and two sets of 4. I made these tags to hype 'em up a bit and explain what's going on, then used my hang tag gun to keep the sets together and attach the tag.

ADDENDUM: I forgot to mention that each set has the same fabric on one side, then different fabrics on the other, so they match on the one side. Wink

* Sadly, it hardly made a dent. Sigh. I do have another similar project on my list before the end of the year, so hopefully that'll help!

Those are so awesome. I need such a thing for family meals with my children though I fear the distraction from actually eating, ha ha. Still, at least it would be a fun 2 hour dinner, right?

Clever and fun stash buster!  I keep a basket of mismatched napkins and let guests pick their own out...slowly but surely over the years, they seem to have "disappeared"! Grin

Time to make more!  Love your hang tag!!

Thanks everyone!
Great idea!!!

And now I MUST know what a barter party is.  Shocked

They invite a bunch of folks over to trade stuff! It's generally stuff like home-canned goods, frozen wild game or home raised meat, homebrew, jams/jellies/preserves, some fresh produce, baked goods. But also handmade things such as cards/stationery, woodworking, jewelry, etc. I made gin every year and have done other things. Eric is taking some copies of The Trials of Solomon Parker this time!

Oh, it's also a snack potluck and frequently there's a bonfire.

Thanks! I am a handmade cloth napkin junkie and have to really hold back so I don't end up with even more-too-many! This project also helped soothe my jones to make more!

Great napkins!
They are so pretty that it really doesn't matter they are not a close match.

A barter party sounds like lots of fun!
I wish we would know other creative people over here, so we could organize one too, but we don't.

I added that to the original post.

It is really fun! Mostly it's not crafty-creative stuff, it's home-canned produce/spreads/sauces, homegrown/hunted meat, baked goods, and that kind of thing. Last year I made bacon jam to take along with my gin.
