I found my way to this site while looking at costume prop ideas, and thought I would share what I made for my grandson last year.    My daughter had the wagon already and asked if I could make it a circus wagon.  I made the corner vertical pieces to sit on the wagon floor and attached the bottom horizontal pieces to sit directly on the wagon sides.  I drilled holes for the "bars" and glued them in.  The small vertical pieces you see on the outside of the wagon were added to attach the cardboard to.  The entire thing will slide on and off of the wagon.  It's made so there was no damage to the original wagon.  Here is the wagon in progress

I painted the bars silver and the other pieces red.  All the exterior pieces are painted cardboard and were stapled to the wooden frame.  Here is the finished product, with the cutest little lion I've ever seen Wink

That little lion is super adorable and that was a great idea for customizing a standard wagon.  If you know a bunch of other mothers/grandmothers with wagons, you could arrange an animal toddler train parade!

What a lovely circus lion. Your modification of that wagon is really clever.

When I saw the thumbnail in the photo gallery, my first thought was of the box of animal crackers most of us grew up with.  I agree with everyone else, your lion is most adorable!  He may not want to escape from that cage.
