Hi all! I'm a DC-based knitter and fiber artist, and I need help gathering words for an upcoming installation piece. I thought this might be something my fellow knitters would find interesting. If you would consider taking a moment to submit one word that you feel describes Washington, DC here, I would SO appreciate it!: https://www.amywikeart.com/in-a-word/
Please feel free to share with any friends or family -- I'm hoping to get submissions from as many places as possible.

A little bit more about the project: In a nutshell, I'll take all of these words, translate them into Morse code, and use that as a pattern to knit all of the submitted words into one continuous, stream-of-consciousness kind of string (I'll also have the words on the gallery walls). The exhibition compares perceptions of Washington, DC from a variety of vantage points, and invites consideration of the role and responsibility of an individual neighborhood within an overall city. To achieve this, the fabric of the installation is entirely dependent on collecting submitted words from inside and outside of the community in which the mobile gallery is placed. Examples of my existing work are here: https://www.amywikeart.com/
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope I get a chance to support your projects as well Smiley
