These are the cards I did for the July Swap. I did more cards in June but looking back, I wasn't very pleased with them so I decided to claim less and work harder.  Wink
Here is what my efforts came up with.
My first attempt was this guy. He is inspired by Ronan from the Raven Boys but I know Ronan has less hair. I wasn't exactly sure how to do that. I am not very good at drawing guys so I decided to work on that more.

Then I did Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. I know everyone's favorite was/is Han but as a kid I was all about Luke. This was my first time adding color pencil on top of the Copic Markers to add detail and I really enjoyed the effects. I went back and added it to the card above with less than stellar results. I am still learning.  Embarrassed

I was house sitting for my parents while I was working on this and got some help from her kitten Ernie.  Kiss

Next up is my little lady Yeti Pegleg. She has an injured eye from her kittenhood before I adopted her. She is also missing a back foot. She is quite the scrapper though and nothing slows this pirate down!

I decided to go for something even more challenging and tried to attempt water. I had a bit of a time figuring out how to do the sand and not have it blend in with the flesh and then it hit me, stipple it! I really liked the outcome. Then I put a layer of pale, pale blue over everything that would be underwater and added the white gel pen. I was pleased with the feel of this card.

Lastly, one was lost in the mail. I whipped up this replacement and think it's better than the first. The theme was girl with Antlers. Actually, the first one is the lost card and the second one is the remake just for comparisons. The second one looks like Tyra Banks to me. LOL!

They all look awesome! I agree, the second addition of the girl with antlers was awesome! Great work, gozer!

these are all fantastic! the colored pencil over copic technique looks so good. i am intrigued by this and plan on trying it but with watercolors (i don't have any copics yet). any particular colored pencils work better/worse?

I used two different kinds, Polychromos by Faber-Castell & Prismacolors. The Prismacolors were softer but I had to watch out for the over done kind of too soft look (like what happened in the first one). I think going over it with the blender would fix that but I didn't have a blender at the time. The Polychromos were on the opposite end of the scale and were harder and tended to leave harder lines. I only have 12 of those so not as much color choices and ended up using the Prisma more. Those are the ones I think I will try to learn with. In the end it's personal preference.  Wink

I'm STILL all about Luke. Wink Excellent rendition of an iconic New Hope scene!

Oh, and the rest are great, too. Cheesy

These are all so fun, but I love the kitty and both the girls with the antlers.

I have! The resemblance is uncanny.

Though I have to admit I have no idea who Sebastian Stan is or what Winter Soldier is, lol...

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

These are all excellent cards! You nailed the underwater effect, and extending Yeti's tail off the card was a great idea. What lucky partners!
