Ongoing Wish Swap Round 140 August 2017

Click here for the Gallery/Discussion for round 140

Craftster member who is organizing this swap: rscowtown
Sign-up date range: 8/1/2017---8/31/2017
Claim date range 8/1/2017---8/31/2017 (some claims made near the end of the month will have a ship by date in the following month)
Date to send item by: 2 weeks after the date of the claim

Limited to a certain number of people? No, heck no! when the wall are starting to bow and the ceiling looks like its gonna cave in, we will just get a bigger room!

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO--everyone is warmly welcomed! Hey Tell us about where YOU live! share some pix, slap some up on a new pinterest board, let us stalk you from afar....and long to visit you!

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES you betcha, and I got a great co-organizer all lined up
- Is at least 18 years old: YES im 55 this year wheeeee!

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative comments: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- If within the US, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap:

This is an ongoing swap: Claim an item from the list of the last person who posted and post your own list in response. It makes a chain. When we get to the end of the month, the very last person to post a list will be the first person to post a list at the beginning of the next month.

The size of the claim should be a medium item. This means 2 or more crafting hours (this is not cooking time, drying time, etc.. waiting around for something to set up.......it is craft time for the average crafter) or supplies worth at least $20.

1) When you send to the person you have claimed, you MUST PM the organizer with the delivery confirmation # or if you are outside the US, you need to either PM the customs number on your receipt from the post office or upload a copy of your post office receipt.

2) When you receive a claim, you MUST PM the organizer so she can update the main list.

3) NEW!!!! We are asking that everyone post once a week in the discussion/gallery board--so that we know you're still here with us Smiley  Obviously, if you join mid month, you would only need to post for the weeks you are in the swap (the last 2 weeks cuz you weren't in the swap during the first 2 weeks).

If you post:  "I'm still here but swamped with work!" that's ok! If you want to post a big rambling note about what you did during the week, that's ok too. Don't forget to comment on the awesome items folks are receiving from their claims!

Did you make something that you'd just love to make again? Post it in the discussion and suggest that mebby someone add it to their wish list so you mebby could claim them! I had lots of paint and brushes left over from when I taught One Stroke Painting classes (am a certified One Stroke Painting Instructor). Some of those brushes and paints were sent to a new home(s) cuz they don't like sitting in my storage rooms down in the store. Do you have extra stuff that needs a new home? list it in a post, and give us a nudge to add it to our wish lists!

Go ahead, check out your excess or duplicate things, mention them in this swap's discussion board and perhaps they too will soon be winging their way to a new home where they will be used!

Let's keep the discussions going and maybe growing--ideas for some games we can do in the discussion/gallery board? I would be more than happy to supply some prizes!

These 2 required PM's are part of communication and are used when giving feedback for participating in this swap.

If you want to participate, information to send to: rscowtown
Name of swap: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 140 {August 2017}

2. Confirm that are at least 16 years old: (YES/NO)

3. Do you understand that you are claiming for at least a medium sized item? For this swap a medium sized item means 2 or more crafting hours or over $20 worth of supplies.

7. Do you understand that you should post at once a week in the discussion thread?
8. Tell me anything you want (I am the only person who sees this Smiley

Any questions?

Do not post in this thread until you are ready to make a claim. All discussion needs to be kept in the discussion/gallery thread. Please post at least once in the discussion thread.

When you PM the organizer for sending and receiving please include the name of the swap (including the round) and the due date of the claim.
I.E.  Sally ----> Suzy for a pink pony saddle due out Jan 1

Please pay close attention to your partners wish list and allergies, likes, dislikes etc. Make sure your own allergy information and your country are prominently displayed in your post.

Do not claim someone while waiting for approval. You may claim as soon as you get approval confirmation.

Have your list including both 15 medium crafted items AND 15 supply items ready before making your first claim (the more you have, the better your chance of getting claimed quickly).

Please include your claims status: How many claims you have made in total, how many are in transit and how many have been received by their intended recipients. i.e/ 4 claims/1 in transit/2 received.

Unsent Claim Limit:
Friend of Craftster: Three
First-Time Swapper: One
Everyone Else: Two

You may claim again once you have shipped a claim but you can not have more than twice your Unsent Claim Limit outstanding at any one time.

If you are a friend of craftster you can have 3 unsent claims open at a time and no more than 6 total claims open (open meaning in transit as well as not yet sent) no matter how many have been posted. As an example, You claim 3 times, send all 3 claims out, then claim 3 more times. Even when you send any or even all of those 3 claims, you can not claim again until a claim has been received. So a person can be 6 claims/3 in transit/0 received. Or 6/6/0 or 8/5/2 or 7/5/1.

If you are not a friend of craftster, you can have at most 2 claims unsent and 4 claims total between unsent and in transit. So 4/2/0 is okay or 5/3/1 or 6/4/2

If this is your first swap, You can have at most one claim in transit and one claim unsent. 2/1/0, 2/2/0, 3/1/1

Please keep in mind that DC#'s are required for all US to US cans and receipts are required for all international claims. If you can not provide a receipt and the item does not arrive you will need to resend the claim.

If you have questions, please PM rscowtown. Welcome to the August 2017 Round 140 of the OWS!

I claim rscowtown for some fiber!!! Cheesy

1 claim, 0 sent, 0 received

Hi!  My name is Ginger and I live in Florida with my husband, twin daughters Amelie and Anneliese (2 years old), two angora rabbits, and a stinky bulldog.
We recently purchased our first home and moved across the country from California.  We are very big into homesteading.  We plan to start raising chickens for eggs, and just started gardening. I was diagnosed with cancer in February, so I do not work and spend a lot of time at home with my kids.  I've majored in art in college with a focus in mainly ceramics and textiles/fibers.  I like to spin yarn, soapmaking, dyeing my own yarn, knitting, embroidering, weaving, painting, and sewing.  I make pottery but do not have access to a kiln currently. I also enjoy reading, drinking tea, and chocolate.

- jewel tones (for things around the house)
- indigo
- dark purple/plum
- dark grey/charcoal
- black
**dislike pastel shades and the color yellow.

- sashiko
- east Indian (like the designs you see in henna, etc)
- retro floral
- tiny black/white polka dots
- kitschy vintage
- Prints with lemons for any kitchen related stuff

Favorite fabric designers
- Cotton + Steel
- Tula Pink
- Freespirit
- Lizzie House

Kiddo stuff
- Amineko cats, any size!  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/amineko-crocheted-cat
- Magic loop teddy. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/magic-loop-teddy
- Knitted or crocheted amigurumi toys.  The girls LOVE animals especially rabbits and kitties.
- Crocheted or play food.
- Cloth diapers.  We have several handmade pocket style and all in two types, and they are awesome! (My kiddos weigh about 30 pounds if thats helpfulthey are a little developmentally delayed and may be in diapers a while longer).

Sewn stuff
- I need knitting needle cases very badly. Especially one for DPNs.  I like how the inside of this case is constructed - https://www.etsy.com/listing/57170147/needle-case-needle-holder-craft-bag?ref=shop_home_active_17  I would prefer one that has a flap at the top to keep the needles in, and a button closure instead of a tie or ribbon.
- Wallet http://oliverands.com/product/OLV-SS005HA1.html
- Zip up bags for craft supplies
- A case for my Kindle Fire (I have the Fire 7, 7 display)

- French Press Felted slippers, size 10. https://www.etsy.com/listing/41507335/pdf-pattern-download-french-press-felted
- Knitted socks, womens size 10
- Louise Belcher pink bunny hat (free pattern here! - http://woollyrhinocrafts.blogspot.com/2016/08/free-louise-belcher-ears-hat-knitting.html)
- Peekaboo mitts http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peekaboo-mitts
- Rikke hat. Preferably in a dark purple or dark gray variegated yarn.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rikke-hat
- Needle felted mushrooms.  I am OBSESSED.  There are many on my pinterest embroidery/needlecrafting link below.  I like how these are displayed https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/b9/0e/fc/b90efc02459fc173fc683ebfc5e2af4a--felt-mushroom-wool-felting.jpg
- Cactus pin cushion http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/quick--easy-cacti
- Egg apron!  A sewn version of this would be ok too, just need something functional. http://hearthookhome.com/an-egg-cellent-apron-free-crochet-pattern/
- One of these bags in black http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ingas-hakelbeutel

- Embroidery pendants. I love the kind with little flowers.
- Terrarium pendants (there are some on my pinterest)
- Crocheted necklaces.  Something a little more simple than this (I like the style though) https://www.etsy.com/listing/51553091/mystic-garden-green-crochet-necklace?ref=usr_faveitems&atr_uid=2065

Household things
- Handmade pottery mugs or small bowls.
- Embroidery hoopla. I used to have a massive collection, but it all got destroyed in a move. Please check out my pinterest for ideas.
- I absolutely love Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery cross stitch patterns and it would be awesome to have some of the small patterns made so I can hang them up.  So far Ive only made the Bee Keeper pattern for myself, but I love them ALL.
- PUNCH NEEDLE AVOCADO!!! Ive been wanting one like this so badly.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/517181826/avocado-embroidery-in-a-mini-weathered?utm_source=OpenGraph&utm_medium=PageTools&utm_campaign=Share
- Potholders, knitted/crocheted or sewn.
- Crochet face scrubbies
- Embroidered napkins and placemats.
- These crocheted bag organizer things https://www.pinterest.com/pin/261560690833709748/
Rscowtown made one for us years ago, and I still use it to this day! 😊

- Fiber for spinning!
- Acid dyes or Indigo dye (I love to do the shibori dyeing technique)
- Natural yarn for dyeing
- Needlefelting supplies
- Weaving supplies.
- Vintage (or vintage inspired) ephemera paper
- Yarn. Worsted, DK, or sock weight! I hate to sound like a brat, but I don't really use the stuff you find in big box craft stores (like michaels, joanns, etc) Madelinetosh, Malabrigo I also LOVE indie hand-dyed yarns from Hey Lady Hey, Spun Right Round, Republic of Wool, The Flying Kettle, Yarn Ink
- heart-shaped buttons
- beeswax sheets
- fabric scraps, fat quarters, jelly rolls, etc.
- Jars of whimsies
these fibers:

- Vintage blue mason jars with glass lids
- Cold process/hot process handmade soap.  Any scent is ok (even masculine stuff because my dude will happily use it) as long as it isn't heavily floral.  I really love honey-scented soaps. And fruity scents like strawberry.
- Scrubs.  Salt, sugar, lip scrubs, whateva.
- Lip balms, body butters.
- Homemade jams, sauces.  We are vegetarian, so no gelatin please.  But we love pretty much anything.  Fall spices (like pumpkiny, cinnamon type stuff) are a big plus.
- I'm a huge sucker for chocolate and snacks from other countries.  I'm down to try anything as long as it doesn't have gelatin or meat in it, and it isn't super spicy.

I have a ton of other pinterest boards, feel free to have a look!
