I had fun with this quilt. It is my first made from scratch paper piecing pattern. That's what happens when you have a concept and the world of quilting does not have what you want. I fell in love with paper piecing this year and though I've only make 2 other projects, I am a whiz at Illustrator. So I dove in. I did find one spherical quilt and I riffed off of that.

It's harder than it looks. LOL we all have found that one out. The pattern itself was a bit of a challenge, but the assembly order was even more challenging, add to the fact that I forgot to reverse the pattern pieces so I had to improvise. I flipped the top to bottom, and recolored the earth pieces to match my vision. After that it was a paper piecing breeze...well there were snags, but all in all it came out. I've since revised the pattern to fix those issues. PM me if you want it, but keep in mind....it's not been tested well.

The words were printed on printable fabric, sewn to the quilt with the NO and B added after. I just stitched around the edges, trimmed closely and roughed up the cut edge to give a scrappy look. Embroidery or standard applique would work well too.

It's 24" x 18" final size. Hmmm, I obviously shrunk the quote. I'll have to go back and re measure and adjust the pattern. I like the smaller quote.

Beautifully done!  Rocks.

You say "scientist or artist?" like they're mutually exclusive.

ROCKS!  The sentiment *and* the fact that it's your own design!  Brilliant!  Cheesy

Beautiful fabrics and composition.
