This isn't my recipe, but it was so delicious and pretty that I had to share it with y'all! Here's where I found it, and I followed the recipe except for using less sugar to toss the strawberries. http://prettysimplesweet.com/strawberry-cake/



The secret to the showstopping look of the cake it laying the cut berries out on top, and then the batter rises all around them.





I served it with fresh whipped cream and a big fresh berry along side.

That is the prettiest cake I have ever seen!  And it has two of my favorite flavors.

I just "inherited" a bunch of cast irons from my mom so I've been looking for fabulous recipes to make and this one is at the top of my list

That does look delicious and the two symmetrical circles of strawberries (reminds me of a sand dollar) make for a very attractive dish.  I'd have to cover it with whipped cream too!
