I've wanted to make quilts since I was eight-years-old and received one as a gift from my great, great Aunt. Nobody else in my family knew how to sew, though, so I never learned as a child.

Then as an adult I've always lived in small apartments without enough space for a dedicated sewing area. We bought a house this past fall, though, and I bought a sewing machine before we even moved in!

I slowly collected quilting accessories, watched lots of videos, and pinned so many quilts and tutorials. I made a terribly embarrassing doll quilt, then watched even more videos and tutorials so I could avoid making the same mistakes twice. One month ago today I finished my first quilt, and I've made two others since!

Great work! If these are the first three quilts you made, without having any background in sewing, then you're definitely talented. Those triangles aren't easy.

Wow, you are on a roll! Did you make those pillows too? Very cool! I love the pink and gray triangle one! <3

Thanks! No, my mom bought those pillows for my son from Etsy about a year ago when he wanted to redecorate his room in Minecraft stuff. I can't imagine piecing all those tiny 1-inch squares!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Excellent work on your quilts! I'm really loving the first one, but they are are wonderful. That's a lot of work!

They all look great! I can't believe you taught yourself just using videos! That's fantastic! I spent a year at sewing lessons and still make mistakes sometimes! Embarrassed Keep up the great work.

We all make, and continue to make, mistakes in our sewing adventures!!

You really put a lot of effort into learning on your own...a sign of a true quilter...dedicated and determined!  Just love it!

My favorite is also the pink and grey, but the first one is also very nice since I love a scrappy look quilt!

Hope you make many more in your lifetime!!
