I love prayer flags. Thoughts and prayers to let loose in the world. So I join every flag swap I can, give workshops on creating flags, and make them randomly for myself.

The first one was on the theme of "Go Within" and vintage. I wanted to use old linens and such. There is old lace, hand tatted bits, an old button and yarn. It was fun trying to get it all to swirl around properly. I used a water soluble backing, then stitched the whole thing to a silk flag. My trusty sewing machine did the stitching on the bit of ribbon.

"Wander" was the next theme and I started with 1/2 a blue doily, more lace, a crocheted sample, and more lace. The base was an old sun browned curtain that was so fragile that I kept tearing holes in it. But it made it onto the silk backing. The wander yarn bit was composed of several decorative yarns, zig zagged into a string: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=438001.0.

The last flag was for me, one of the requirements of this swap, and I chose "Breeze". I needed some air and light in my life right now. The flag itself is an old linen tea towel, the other half of the blue doily, a lacy doily, and hand tatted breezy air! I've had that large button for a while. I sewed it on and had the three flags laid out on my ironing board. The next morning that large button was in two pieces. Weird, I have to get some gremlin repellent! It glued together just fine and is hanging in my collection in the window.

Oh my, so pretty! I would love a bunting of small flags just like this, with the scrumptious vintage bits. Love it!

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.
