I've been wanting to make something with seersucker for a good long while AND I have wanted a lighter robe for warmer months. For some reason it took me a long time to figure out that I could combine these. D'oh!

I may shorten the sleeves to 3/4 length. If I do, I may add the piping detail there, too. I'll wear it a few times to see how it goes. I used Kwik Sew 4144.

Now it just has to actually warm up enough to get me out of my fleece robe first thing in the morning!

Thank you! I was super tickled with how easily and well the piping came together! It took forever to pin and such, but then sewed like a dream. I have only ever done piping on things like throw pillows and the piping has been MUCH bigger and a real PITA!

I was just thinking about making a summer robe, but I wouldn't have thought to add in the contrast piping, which looks fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration!

Funny you should say that... I ALWAYS forget to buy my notions even when I have the pattern envelope RIGHT THERE WITH ME and I didn't remember to buy piping so I had to put the project on hold for 24 hours until I could drive 25 miles to the nearest reputable piping vendor. I didn't have anything suitable (or long enough) in my stash and I did not feel like making it at all, especially as the cording I had was at least twice as bulky as the basic Wright's selection.

That's really cute, and seersucker is a great idea for summer!

That's what I am hoping! It usually cools off at night here quite a bit which is what makes the hot, dry summer weeks (sometimes months) bearable.
