My hubs bought me the fabric a year or so ago. I was going to make curtains for our son's room with it. Then we moved and the 2 yards I had wasn't enough but my sister had given me some superhero fabric, of which there was enough so he's got curtains (I *just* made them. I procrastinate too much! Lol)
So my hubs asked what I was going to do with that Doctor Who fabric. I wasn't sure.
Then I decided I needed a purse that could also double as a diaper bag since there have been quite a few times we've had to turn around and head back home because I didn't grab the diaper bag. Usually, we're only about five minutes from home so it's not a huge deal, but once we were twenty minutes out and couldn't turn around so we had to stop and buy some diapers and wipes on the way, which sucked because we had a whole case of diapers at home!
Ahem...sorry, I get sidetracked a lot.
Here's the bag:

I made it using the Lauren bag pattern. The pattern calls for canvas, which would make it hold it's shape a little better. But I didn't have any canvas or any stabilizer and don't mind a slouchy bag so I just went with it. Here it's stuffed with fabric pieces I had laying on my craft table so that you can better see the shape of the bag. I made the handled using this great tutorial from Blue Susan Makes, which I found via Pinterest.

Inside:

I used a remnant of the "Esploding Tardis" (yes, it has "Esploding" printed as its name, not "exploding") fabric for the inside to give it visual interest and added a pocket for my cell phone and gum (I ALWAYS have gum in my purse).

It's a little bit wonky, but I think I did pretty well considering it's only the second purse I've ever made, and the fact that the zipper made me crazy since I'd never sewn a zipper on a curve. A big thanks to gozer for her help and cheering me on to finish it. You're awesome, and I hope to make bags as nicely as you do someday! Kiss

Great job. It looks really cute. I especially love you fabric choices, lol since I made purse with the same fabrics.

Thanks Cheesy
I just have to get some more of the Esploding Tardis fabric because I've had friends asking for their own. One friend, who doesn't carry purses or bags, asked for a wallet of the outer fabric.

Thanks Cheesy I'm glad I didn't give up and throw it in the closet to forget about it because I've received quite a few compliments on it! Grin
