I've been a paper crafter and stamper for a long time, but I want to get into some fancier items and expand my offerings for this holiday season. I've been eyeing the Cricut for a long long time and now the explore air and explore air 2 are calling my name. I'm just not sure which to get. Is the 2 really worth the extra money?

(sorry is this is in the wrong spot - I'm new here!)

I've asked for a Cricut for my birthday (in July) and set off to research what's out there.  After watching multipkle youTube vids and reading online, I've decided to get the Explore Air...not the Air 2.  Reason:  the only significant difference I can find is the Air 2 is faster.  I don't want to spend the extra $$ on it.

What does everyone else think?

Which one did you end up getting, imstillkp?

ooak_diva, did you get your birthday wish?

My mom gave me her old Cricut Personal Cutter, so I had been using it to label some things like totes of Christmas decorations, garage organization, etc.  Sadly, I think the cable port has gone bad because it won't stay connected to my computer, so I cannot use any of the software they have available, which limits me quite a bit.   I didn't want to spend too much money on a new machine, so I've been creeping around Facebook Marketplace for deals.  Then today it crossed my mind to check our bank reward points.  Sure enough, there is a Cricut Explore Air 2 on there and we have more than enough points.  Giddy!
