Making dolls is something not normally in my routine. I am pretty much a purse sewer but I decided to try something different for a personal swap I was in recently. I was inspired by her Pinterest. She had some really cute DotD dolls on there. Admittedly, mine are not nearly as cute, but I tried to give her something unique and fun.
I made up the pattern. It was a simple one. Then I proceeded to paint them with layers and layers of paint to give them an old time feel. There are some dark brown underlayers to give them an interesting look if they do get squeezed and cracked. They are 6" tall.
 Here is the happy couple.

 And the lady.

I included hidden Mickeys on her skirt. At least that is what those are supposed to be. I guess not so hidden. I gave her a half sleeve of skulls on one side.

I accidentally painted her undies over her tights.  Tongue  She dances to the beat of her own drum I guess. Sorry for teh up-skirt shot.

And here is the dapper dude. I have to admit he was my favorite of the two. I really liked his spider nose.  Cheesy

Thanks for checking them out!

Those are totally cute! I would love to attempt to paint a doll (or, at least, the face). I love all of the little details that you added to make it extra special!

All of the details!  The nose, the underoos, the little half sleeve.  So grand.

Great undead couple!  The wide-eyed expressions on both are memorable and I really dig that dangling spider "nose" on the male doll too, as I've never seen that done before.
