So I took a class, and tried out a spinning wheel.  They even had the one I was thinking of getting, the Kiwi Flyer (it's small and, in the world of spinning wheels, affordable).  I did... okay.  It was a 6 hours long class, and I managed to get two skeins of yarn about 50-ish yards each spun.  The pink was my first attempt, the green my second.  They're about the same, quality-wise, and while I did buy a ton of fiber (you got a discount on class day!), I have yet to take the plunge and buy a wheel.  I'm telling myself I really have to get to a point where I have someplace to put it, AKA cleaning my craft room(s).

I also had my Little Visitor, all the way from Australia, with me for the class!

I know how much work it will be if I want to try to get decent at it, any maybe I'm ready for that, maybe not...  Also, considering I already have a yarn stash that is threatening to engulf the house, do I really need to MAKE yarn?  Yes, yes I do.  I'm a quick crocheter and knitter!  Cheesy

Umm. Those are pretty dang awesome for first time yarn. In fact, they look like art yarn that a lot of spinners try to get and have a hard time doing it. It really won't take you that long to get a more even and consistent yarn. And you may even have a hard time being able to reproduce these lovely first time yarns.

Thanks, everyone!  I can't imagine ever getting to the point of consistent yarn, but stranger things have happened... Cheesy

I am trying to institute a "clean a little every day" so I can get a spot for a spinning wheel, but it's so hard to motivate myself when I get home from work, I just want to vegg out and craft and watch TV...  And that's how my craft room turned into the tip it currently is!  Cheesy

How wonderful!  I think those are excellent first wheel skiens.  Well done!
