I initially had an abundance of this gray faux fur I didn't know what to do with and people suggested I make a Totoro. I really love cephalopods so I decided to give it long long tentacles with a forest fabric for the underneath.

Hard to get a full shot of this giant. From top of the ear to bottom of his tentacles it's about 5 feet long.

I also made a little Soot Sprite friend for him. I initially was going to stitch him so it was wrapped in one of the tentacles but I decided I didn't like it at the last minute.

He took a lot of stuffing and time but I quite love him.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

This is absolutely INCREDIBLE!  I also adore both Ghibli and octopuses, but would never have thought to put them together.  The face, fur, tentacles, and sheer scale of this guy are all truly amazing!!  Loooooooove it, and it definitely ROCKS! XD

This is absolutely amazing!! One of the best combinations I've ever seen! You could totally sell this at a a Ghibli store, I think people would go nuts for it Grin especially the face is extremely well done. How long did it take you to make it and what did you use for the eyes and teeth?

Incredible job and a very unlikely, but cool, combination of character elements.  The little Soot Sprite is adorable too!

He is so cute. Great idea. I bet that took a ton of Polyfil. I especially love the leaf.

I don't even know how long it took me total because I worked on it slowly between other craft things whenever supplies arrived for it.  The eyes and teeth are actually stiff stabilizer fabric. Smiley
