Hi everyone! This is my first post, so I thought I'd just show you all this purse I made-- with craftster users as my wonderful inspiration, of course. Cheesy

I basically just started using white duct tape to make a cool form that I liked, then used BananaAmbush's tutorial (here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=30880.0 ) for the spikes, and finally stuck a bottle cap on for the button. Smiley

Oh, I couldn't find the black or white duct tape at any craft stores, but they always have a bunch at Lowe's and Home Depot. Smiley

I'm making my own bag using this style, and I just want to ask, how big did you make the spikes?

iSearchToBeLost: Oh wow, tagboard-- what a neat idea. That would certainly spare a lot of duct tape Wink To make the clasp I basically took the bottle cap, a pop tab(from a soda can), and some string. I tied the string around the middle of the pop tab and then put it inside the bottle cap. I then put rubber cement inside the bottle cap so the string was sticking out (you need about 2 or 3 inches of string showing). Once it had dried, I duct taped the string to the inside of the bag, right underneath the flap where the bottle cap would be. Then, directly above that on the flap, I cut a line about 1.25 inches where the bottle cap button would fit through.
... does that make any sense?

biafrabitches236: Most of the spikes are about 1.5 inches for every leg of the triangle and 1 inch for the base, though I have to say I never really paid attention to measurements while I was making them.
