I've had people asking me if I could make large versions for years, but the one time I tried, it was a mess because scaling up gets exponentially overwhelming really fast. A 1.5" pendant uses about 10 feet of wire, so you can imagine a 12" piece gets out of control really fast.

But, people have continued to inquire about it so I sat down and got thinking and I was able to invent an entirely different technique from the way I make the pendants to scale up and make giant 8", 10", and 12" versions of them! I'm thinking they would look great in a window or a backyard garden.

These were the first few I experimented with. I'll be trying some additional styles and variations moving forward.

(Copper with crystal accents)

(Two tone pink/blue cracked glass beads)

(Red/gold glass beads)

(It looks awesome in a sunny window too!)

I'm working on a few more too. I'd like to develop the idea further. Thoughts & feedback appreciated!

Ooh, I think they look lovely! They are like slender young saplings. I suppose it would be awkward to use thicker wire to get the more substantial looking trunks of your pendant sized pieces? I do enjoy the look of those very much as well, they remind me of gnarly old grandmothers and fathers of the forest.

These are all absolutely beautiful! I think they translate very well into the larger shape. Can't wait to see more Smiley

Believe it or not, this IS much thicker gauge wire! It's actually 16g. I'm still working on how I can make fatter trunks without drowning in too much wire. LOL It's still a development in progress. Wink

And thank you everyone! I'm still working on it and adapting to the much larger scale so there's more to come with it as I refine the technique further.

I can tell it's thicker wire for sure! Your pendants are quite delicate and fine. I wonder if using a solid core would work to increase the size of the trunk without adding to the tangleweb of wire.
Either way they are quite beautiful as they are. The only difficulty I have with a design like this one is choosing a favourite, it's impossible!
