I finally finished the baby quilt for my best friend's second niece. She's um, 9 months old now lol! Before 1 year old is always the goal, am I right?

I love these fabrics by my friend Mo Bedell. I thought they were all from her line Full Moon Lagoon, but after looking at them again, I think some might be from Hot House Flowers. No matter, they work together! I rounded it out with several different solids, both Kona and Michael Miller and maybe a Bella or two. I ended up binding it with some Heather Ross Mendocino tiny seahorses (omg, I just had a total brain fart and couldn't remember what they were called...horsefish??).  Grin

For the back I used this awesome panel from the collection. A couple people have told me they like the back better than the front lol! So props to designers who make gorgeous panels ha!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

I really love the color combo...and nice job fussy cutting some of the blocks on the front!  Such a vibrant and fun quilt for a child...I am sure it will become a keepsake!

You can put me in the camp that prefers the backside too, those seahorses and jellyfish are awesome.  Hippocampus for the win!  I like how those blocks are more asymmetrical in arrangement/shape as well.

Great Job, I love both sides. I also love the colours. I also love the wavy quilt lines, very creative. Are they free motion?

Nope! I've talked about them before, they are the brainchild of my friend Cherri. She calls them Wonky Argyle, and you just use your regular foot, don't use a free motion foot or a walking foot. I love it, it's my go-to for fun and easy quilting. Cherri shared it in a guild meeting our first year as a guild.

Oh no! It looks like the pictures are gone from her blog post, but the words are still there. Basically you go wiggle wiggle wiggle back and forth at a diagonal  and then change the thread and echo the quilting you just did. Then do the same on the other diagonal and change the thread color again to echo. It's great because you don't have to mark any lines! I just aim to try to kinda hit the corners of each block so I'm kinda going down the middle-ish lol!
