Welcome to the 2017 Quilt Along! Please join in as we work on various quilting projects this year. The point of this Quilt Along is to motivate ourselves and others to work on their projects and provide a space to discuss projects during and after their completion, as well as fill the Quilting Board with beautiful quilts.

To join our Quilt Along, please post a list of the 4-8 quilts you will be working on this year, baby sized or larger.

Of course, discussing and sharing in-progress pics of any quilted projects, large or small, quilted mug rugs, wall hangings, and whatever smaller projects you are working on this year are always welcome!

I'll keep track with links in the second post of people's lists so you can find your "master list" quickly and easily.

How to join the 2017 QuiltAlong:

1.) Make a post introducing yourself (tell us about your quilting likes and dislikes and your quilting journey) along with your list of 4-8 Quilts, baby sized or larger that you are committing to working on this year. They could be started already or quilts you haven't started yet, tops languishing ready to be quilted, or any stage in between.

2.) Check in once in awhile! Tell us what you've worked on, or what you'd like to be working on.

3.) When you finish a project on your list, make a post for it with picture(s) on the Quilting Board AND share it in this QuiltAlong thread with a picture and link to your post on the Quilting Board.

There will be prizes and challenges throughout the year, stay tuned!

Challenge 1: Post a collage or set of pics (personally I love making collages via Picmonkey, it's free and easy) of all the quilt projects you made last year! (since we're starting late this year, feel free to do last year but up until now) I only finished, like 2 lol! If you did more than, say, 8 feel free to just pick your faves.

Hey all, I'm Mary Ann and I've been quilting for around 8 years I think? I'm an active member of the Portland Modern Quilt Guild. I'm generally drawn to lots of aqua and gray fabrics!

My List:

1.) 2013 guild BOM sampler in all solids--blocks finished, am editing these down to make a quilt out of my favorite 6-7 blocks
2.) do.Good stitches Sweet Stripes quilt (need to re-make 1 block that I misplaced and then piece the top together)
3.) do.Good stitches low volume + brights quilt (top complete)
4.) Star Stuff quilt from Challenge Accepted Bee (need to make several replacement blocks)
5.) 2015 Skill Building Bom (done with lesson 4 or so)
6.) Laura Gunn quilt for me (beginning piecing stage)
7.) Freshly Pieced Reindeer Quilt (about 85% of the blocks are pieced, but I need to buy some more solid fabric since I mis-cut something. D'oh!)
8.) NICU Charity Quilt 1--top pieced
9.) NICU Charity Quilt 2--top pieced

Smaller Projects:

1.) Christmas Dresden Plate Table Runner

I'm joining! Art quilts and little quilty items acceptable? I'm working on an art quilt right now for the current swap, I can't say much until it's done 'cause I don't want to give anything away!

Of course!

Hello, my name is Linda and I am a fabricholic!  Which is one reason I have to quilt...I have to have some justification for buying cute fabrics and adding to my stash...I actually have a flow chart I call my Fabric Hierarchy....it is a chart that suggests usage of my fabric, from large pieces for quilts to the tiniest pieces for making new "recycled" fabrics! It keeps me on track and helps me sort all of my fabrics, scraps and threads.

Here are the projects I am working on for 2017:

1. Gypsy Wife Quilt--this requires 72 different blocks.  I have 36 made so far.

2. I Love You bunny baby quilt...the top is done

3. Rainbow with Black quilt--all pieces cut out and ready to sew

4. Tula Pink fabric...not sure yet what I want to do with this fabric

5. Kaffe Fassett 10" squares...the top is done; needs borders

6.Kewpie doll baby quilt

7. Cancer Survivor headscarf Quilt

8. Baby Girl Birdie Quilt

9. Red, white and blue baby quilt--in progress

10. Red, white and black mystery quilt -- needs borders

My name is Melissa and I haven't been very good about quilting the last year or so. I need to get back in gear though because I have several started projects that I really need to finish.

2017 List:

1. Queen size quilt for my mom.

2. Ohio Stars Quilt for Son

3. Scrappy Log Cabin Quilt for Daughter

4. Baby quilt (pattern yet to be decided)

I'm Carol and the Connecticut winters are long. I don't quilt, so the fact that I have made 3-4 baby quilts, mug rugs, placemats, etc. must not count.   Wink

    Projects for 2017
    - Placemats for soon to be redecorated dining room, 2 done, 4 to go.
    - Baby quilt for new grand nephew using 10" Robert Kaufman prints.
Done. He was born 4-22 and he will get it by end of this week 'cause we get to go see him!
- Crinkly baby toy and bibs too. Done. Well one toy for the big brother.
- Mini quilt for swap - Kangaroo paper piecing, done. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=451620.0
- Mini art quilt for swap - I have no idea! Done. And mailed. Can't reveal yet.
- ODU bag for my DD out of my DS old coastie shirts. It's not a quilt, but it feels like one when I'm piecing together bits to make a bag. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=440046.0[/li][/list]

I'll add as I go.

Challenge #1 I like starting the new year in April, nicer (a bit) weather.

Hmmm, I seem to like bright colors, but the only one I kept was the brown/tan/blue one.
