I ordered a Silhouette Cameo 3 over a month ago, and after many trials and tribulations, it finally arrived this week!  I've spent the last few days learning my way around, trying out some small projects.  This was my second project, a big top greeting card, and a coordinating envelope.  I found the envelope a bit too plain, so I had fun adding in a little elephant balancing on a ball.

I have to say, cutting cardstock was a much bigger pain in the bum than cutting vinyl.

Project #3 was supposed to be a coordinating paper purse, which I was going to use as a gift bag for a friend's birthday gift.  Sadly, it was a craft fail.  After hours and hours of weeding out bits that didn't cut cleanly, covering myself in Sharpie trying to ink the edges, and fighting with glue that did not want to hold, I finally gave up on the purse.  At least for today.  You win some, you lose some.   Undecided   Now I think I need a cocktail...

It's such a neat idea, what a shame it wouldn't work right. Still, the card & envelop turned out great!

That purse design is great!  At least you had a learning experience with your Silhouette, so that's a plus.  Enjoy your cocktail!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Aren't you having fun with your Silhouette? The card and envie came out great and as far as the paper purse goes, all I can say is I know your frustrations. Learning the Silhouette is tricky at first, but you'll be crafting more stellar projects with that thing in no time!

If you have any questions though, ask lindy.  Cheesy

The card and envelope are so cute! And the purse... well, let's call it The Old Bag now. Make that drink a double!

I love the card and I'm sorry the bag didn't work out!

Trial and error are the name of the game with the Sillhouette! Keep working at it (oh and get rid of the blade it came with and get a regular old ratchet blade) The test cut feature is your best friend when cutting any type of paper material!
