Geekgirl's creation is terrific! I too admired that pin with the skull flowers, this is a great interpretation of the deadly blossoms. Funny, I was at the thrift store the other day and nearly purchased a large bag of old pencil crayons for just such a sort of thing. I resisted though, can't go adding to stash with no real project on the horizon. Now I wish I'd got them though, that looks so neat-o.

Blu, that's marvelous. I barely know where to begin, there's so much to look at and discover each time you do! Of course I love the TV tubes, they are so special. The bent pie lift kick stand is really clever and that packaging is a work of art on it's own.

Amazing work girls, so unexpected and interesting.

Impressive blu!  So much detail.  I esp like the tv tubes!

Ha! They are tv tubes! I thought they were mini cloches!

I received this lovely specimen from cmarion3! A rare giant firefly!

My favorite angle of the box - it amuses me to no end!

He did try to escape by dislodging a couple of the pins (but still perfectly intact from the engineering feat that was his shipping container); I couldn't resist the opportunity to take him out for his own photoshoot.

I can't decide if the eyes or the wings are my favorite part! They're reminiscent of cicadas we have in our region. I actually just lost a pinned one to a cleaning accident a couple of weeks ago, so I'm thrilled to have an even more beautiful replacement!

He's just perfect! Thank you, cmarion3! Smiley

I would have never thought to put bugs as a "want" but that is a great piece!

That firefly is the most gorgeous thing ever! I had the pleasure of seeing it in person and it was so amazing. Cmarion, you did an absolutely amazing job! I can't get over those wings, personally Cheesy

Geekgirl, I am so fascinated by the crown of pencils topped with an actual crown on your shrine. The doll's dress came out awesome, and the whole thing is just so delightfully creepy and awesome. Smiley

Blu, your creation is quite creepy and interesting - is that an ice skate? It shows that you put a lot of work into it. I missed a lot of the things incorporated in the first time I looked and had to look at everything again. Tongue

That insect is definitely fun!  Wouldn't a whole curio-cabinet full of interesting insects made like that be cool?

Geekgirl - those skull flowers really are to die for  Grin and I've seen the whole rusty nail thing, but the pencils!?  That adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere of the piece.

I received my package from Craftsunderground, and guys - she did such an amazingly wonderful job!

Behold, "Cookie" -

She even came with her very own shelf AND interchangeable accessories!

My goodness. I can't even think of where to begin; I love every single detail about her.  The salt and pepper shaker caps for earrings? so clever. The measuring teaspoons as an arm and the cheese grater body? I can't even.  The fact that she came holding a martini and a paint brush is so perfectly me. How did you know?

I love all the accessories too! and the shelf is definitely a nice touch.  I couldn't have dreamed up a better crafted gift than this one, so thank you!!  My husband was even tickled, and he is a fickle one when it comes to crafted things. Wink

By all means take it out for fun. The display box is there if you want to hang it anywhere. I love how it explodes out of the box. You can't contain a giant firefly! I really wanted to keep this one, but I so glad rhinoceroses will give it a good home.

I posted in the current challenge. The link for the wing technique is there. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=452095.0;all
