My son's newest suit, for our Family Portrait this year. Used Burda (2461 2452) patterns to do it as a base and adjusted the pattern as I cut while looking at historical patterns online. The fabric for the frock coat is from Hobby lobby, and the waistcoat and breeches are ups-cycled kimono from Yoko Dama.

More details on the sewing on my blog, but most of the pictures are all here Cheesy

I would probably do the same thing in such a fine new suit with so many buttons!

I know this is an old post, but just came across it, referencing your use of vintage kimono from us on www.yokodana.com. I will be adding "18th Century Boys Suit" to  our https://www.yokodana.com/pages/faq-vintage-japanese-kimonos-and-fabrics#uses growing list of creative way folks have upcycled from our vintage Japanese kimonos, YokoDana Kimono. Wondering if I can add your picture to our site when I post about this? Many of our regular visitors love stuff like this. Great stuff, thanks. Yoko
