When my dear husband asked me to make a huge somber Don Quixote painting with his scrawny horse and fields, I dove into the challenge and thought "why not?".

What I learned-  painting a human, horse and a landscape all in 1 is quite the challenge. Also - trying to capture someone else's vision is not always easy.

I think it turned out good.
I think it's about 40" wide and finally ready to get framed.
Whewww.

Acrylics.

Nice composition of that deluded "knight errant"; we see rolling fields but what does that crazy Quixote see? Cheesy  And where has his loyal sidekick Sancho Panza wandered off to?

I actually read Don Quixote several years ago, and, man, was that a long book!

Me, too! I saw it in the dry grass and rolling hills.

I love your sky. There's a lot of movement and depth, which is hard to convey in translucency.

I also like how it's more alive in the background, but desolate in the fore. I think you nailed it. Is The Man happy?
